Wow it has been a long time since my last entry. I guess I don't have as much free time as I thought. Well, kiddies are back in school. One in each, High School, Middle School and Elementary. Days are filled with cleaning up after the mess pots, getting hurried phone calls from the school (forgot my gym clothes, Oh I need lunch money, I don't want to wait another hour for the late bus, etc...) and grocery shopping. I now know I definitely have teenagers. Can't keep the food on the shelves.
I want to start scrap booking again. I loved to do that! It made me appreciate my family. I am thinking a need to appreciate them a little more when they aggravate me. Besides the fact that our basement looks like a scrapbook store. I need to give my husband a reason not to get a dumpster to get rid of the paper crap down there. That will be my goal before the end of September.
Still have not figured out the back splash conundrum. I am now liking completely different things than I shared with you before. I think I look at too many ideas and get overwhelmed. Besides the budget issues are making the process extremely slow moving. I would say almost in reverse.
That thought leads to my last topic. Finding part time employment. Aaaauuuggggggggg!!!!! OK have not needed a resume since 1991. Yes that is 20 years! I have always found employment without one. I went from one job to another. They always wanted me...I didn't need to actually FIND a job?! Do I even remember what I did all those years ago. I think it is more of a fear factor situation. I actually like working...I do not like finding. Well wish me luck. Until next time!!....Keep Striving!
Perfection does not come easy....
I have always admired those with perfect homes, kids, organizational skills. That would not be me. Perfection takes boundless energy, which I do not have. My house is pretty, but not complete and a little messy. My organizational skills are sporadic at best. My parenting skillls are loving but slightly impatient. I have the desire to be the best Wife, Parent, Scrapbooker, Cook, Photographer, Decorator, Pet Owner, Party Giver I can be. Please join me in my daily journey to attempt perfection with what I am given...

Not so peppy in bloggerville
Been trying to blog this week but it seems like the gods are working against me. I want to keep this place light and funny and informative. So hard when one of my BFF's lost a treasured pet and then another good friend got horrible health news. So the lighthearted funny brain is in the wrong place. But as I look up from my computer I see my little solar powered soccer flower waving at me, reminding me to keep on truckin'
OK, so the obsession of the week has been back splash tile to complete my, not so compete, kitchen. Not that we have the money right now to actually buy the tile. But I always feel better if I have a plan in what I am doing. I have been to every tile website...I mean every. Some are awsome, with gallery pictures and nice large pictures of the actual tile. Others are horrendous. What really gets me mad is when I see beautiful tiles in a crappy website. I want to call them and offer my advice, being the expert that I am on tile websites.
I have been listing all the gorgous stuff and am making a plan for Carl and I to go see the tiles in person. I am sure he can't wait! First I will show you my kitchen. Please ignore the crap laying all over the place and the dog beds strewn about every 5 feet.
There is definitely lots of back splash to cover. I want something pretty but not too overpowering. I don't want boring one tile coverage , that wouldn't fit with my personality. This is what my ideas are so far: I can go the whimsical route.
This tile is made by Trikeenan. It has little bees on it and the stove backsplash looks like a honeycomb.
I think I could love this tile, but would I get bored. Is it too themey?? I had less issues picking my husband. So lets move on... next victim.
Well I would show you, but the images on the site are protected, so untrusting. So I can't. But if you are really interested here is the link. If not move on.
http://www.sonomatilemakers.com/gallery.aspx?cat=Kitchens It is image 9 and 10 . I love this but I am thinking the colors might be too blah.
NEXT... Encore Ceramics. Good site and very pretty tile. I love both of the following for different reasons. The first is elegant and neutral with a splash of color, not unlike me. The second is bold and interesting.
So this is my dilemma. How do I choose? The winner might come down to price.(Carl threw that comment in) In a perfect, price is no object, world. Which would you choose?? I need your help, so let me know. Not only do you have to read my blog but you must use your brain and comment too. So until next time...
Keep Striving!!

Talk & Images of my Slightly Perfect Life
When looking around me there always seem to be two kinds of people. The Martha Stewart's of the world with the beautiful homes, amazing jobs, well groomed kids, neat cars that have no dirt on or in them, as well as talent up the yin yang for crafts and decorating. I know a few of these blessed people, but they are definitely in the minority.
Then there are those that fall into the "regular people" category. They have nice homes , can cook the basics but prefer to eat out, don't do anything especially creative in their lives They run around with their kids just trying to keep up. This is almost everyone I know.
There is a third category that falls right in the middle of those two. Those striving to be a Martha, but knowing it is so not realistic for their situation., due to energy, time, money, etc... That would be me! I am a mid-forty something with a busy husband, two almost teenagers, a slightly spoiled 8 year old, 4 dogs, a lizard & of course my live-in 80 something Mom. My time is at a premium. I would like to do so much, but there are only so many hours in a day.
If you follow my blog I will promise you a few things:
1. There will be pretty pictures, that is mostly why I follow blogs. Here is one now!
Isn't that pretty. That is my one lucky Peony flower from my garden. Do you know they flower once a season then look like an ugly green weed for the rest of the summer? I love to take pictures, though not technically perfect (been meaning to take a photography class for years) they are pretty.
2. I will make you feel better about yourself because I spell horribly (thank you spell check), I have a hard time completing anything I start. I have been scrap-booking for 10 years, but haven't touched the stuff in over a year. (F.A, (Funny Anecdote) My Hubby calls my basement "the Store" because I have so much.) You can follow me on my journey to Perfection.
3. I have funny stories... ex, Bulldog Cleaning Service
We will talk about that later.. My youngest just spent over $100 on itunes without my knowledge on a stupid game for my iphone. I guess I have to call Amex and cancel the fraud investigation I had pending when I thought someone stole my card number. Grrr!!.
4. I might actually inspire you. I love the web, magazines anything creative, pretty, inspirational. I love cooking, shopping and decorating on my modest budget. I will post cool stuff and attempt to add it into my life without imploding. Should be fun to watch!
So until next time.... Keep Striving!!!
